Where do you get cute waterproof fabric for AIO's? Now that I've got the basics of sewing fitted dipes somewhat down I want to move onto some AIO experimentation. I love my Bumpkins AIO's--I would love to find some fabric similar to the ones used on them.
Also, can I buy polyester thread at Wal-Mart or do I have to go somewhere special for it?

I'm pretty sure you can get polyester thread at wally world. Just check on the thread to make sure when you buy it.
I have no idea about the fabric. Have you tried calling a fabric store like JoAnn's and asking? If they don't carry it, they might know who does.

You might want to look for PUL fabric.
You can buy it by the yard at this site, but, since i've never bought it before, i have no idea whether that's expensive or not for it... so you may want to shop around. They also sell the fleece.

from the site
"100% Polyester knit laminated with 1 mil waterproof, non-breathable backing. 60" wide.
"PUL" is an acronym for Polyurethane Laminate fabric. Some say it as "pull" others spell out the letters P-U-L. This popular diapering fabric is actually a fabric developed for the medical industry. It is soft, pliable, and waterproof. It can withstand high temperatures and a lot of use.
PUL can be used in waterproof diaper covers and as the outer layer in All in One diapers. You can also use PUL for baby bibs, art smocks and aprons, bed wetter sheets, training pants, mattress pads, and washable feminine products."
So I guess the real question is why I am paying $18 per fuzzi bunz when I could make my own for half as much.... I gotta learn how to sew!! How hard can a fuzzi bunz be?

So all fuzzi bunz is basically is:
Waterproof outer lining
fleece inner lining
snaps
elastic for the legs
then whatever you stuff inside it.
How many diapers could you make with a 60'' by 1 yard piece of fabric??

Thanks so much for the links Nichole! Those patterns are CUTE! This will be so much fun! I would like to make homemade AIO's for all of her size large diapers and maybe a few mediums too. That would basically complete our CD stash....
snaps are kind of expensive. I just got a snap press. They work out to about 10 cents each. There's 18 snaps on a FB.
Had I known then what I know now, I would have started out sewing my own diapers. But now, eh, I buy 'em. All that stuff is special order off the internet. That's a bother for me.
RUTH - yes, you can get polyester thread at WalMart, also at JoAnn's. WalMart only has black and white I *think*.

how much did your snap press cost rach?
Would aplix be cheaper?
snap press was 60 bucks, die set 28, snaps, shipping, etc etc etc. I think I spent $130 altogether.
Personally, I prefer snaps so I never priced out aplix.
