It's a boy!! I can't believe I am sitting here snuggling our precious baby on the outside! Yay! So happy and blessed!!
God so took care of us. Yahoo for a vbac. I had bh all day Sunday very regular. We had a nice day. Dh playing lego with the kiddies and then we went for a drive on a very bumpy road :) to show the kids where Dh grew up and we got married. They loved it. Then we went out for a late dinner. By the time we went to bed at about 10:30 I was not having any bh's. I said to Dh that maybe 3:00am would be a good time to start labour. Well I slept right through til 2:20 and got woken up by a painful contraction. I thought I would lay there and see if it was just the one and if I could sleep through them. I lay there for four contractions and then told Dh I was getting up to see if it was the real thing. By 4:00 the contractions were getting strong so we phoned our families. Dh's Mom to come watch our munchkins and my Mom and sister to come to the birth. I jumped in the bath ahh which helped sooo much. It was hard to tell where I was at. The contractions would come strong and fast and then sort of slow down and give me a bit of a break. I sang Rejoice in The Lord Always through all my early contractions ha ha and then I thought I might drive everyone crazy later if I kept that up. :) So I switched to praying and praying. I kept asking God to help me not to fear and to help the baby come down. It must have been around six when we headed to the hospital. I was ready to go it seemed like a good change and something different to do. It was beautiful outside. I walked around our yard and had a few contractions outside. I was so scared that I would only be 3cm when I got to the hospital. She checked me and I was 8 or 9. What a relief for me and a crazy scramble for them. I had maybe 3 contractions and my water broke. Then she checked again and I was 9 1/2 and she thought I would want to push in the next few contractions. I guess they were searching for Dr's now. They phoned my Dr but she was 30 min away at the lake and knew she would not make it. So they phoned the backup Dr, but by then I was 10 cm and ready to push. I just wanted to be done and pushing is so so near the end. I remember thinking I need drugs and telling myself to be reasonable they are not going to give me drugs now. So I pushed. I had been rocking back and forth on the edge of the bed so I was squatting by the bed when baby started crowning. By this time they had found my Ob and he came to deliver. They were trying to get me to lay down and I had to sort of roll to my back so I did not sit on babies head. Next contraction I felt babies head come out and then he was a bit stuck so I had to push more to get his shoulders and the rest of him out. He came right to my chest and they let the cord quit pulsing. I got to snuggle him for a long time and then they weighed him. 9lbs 10oz! Everyone kept saying how big he was, but he seems so tiny to me. He is like a hungry bird with his mouth open all the time. He is nursing well. He sure looks around alot and stays awake for long times. We have all loved and loved on him and are so thankful! So wonderful to have him here an so glad God was with us for his labour and birth. He was born around 7am Aug 17th. :)
