Well, I think we are naming this little girl Ellyana Faith. It means "The Lord has responded or God has Answered" the correct spelling is Eliana, but i wanted to keep it similar to Abby's name. Anyhow. We'll see about that though. Maybe I should do a poll?
Well Little Elly is moving so much these days. She goes in spurts and sometimes I feel "sea sick" from her moving so much at one time. Can you believe that I am just a couple of days away from being 6 months??? Man time flies. That means I will be starting my third trimester!!! wow, just wow.
Okay I'm setting up a name poll for spelling

I don't know if this is an accent thing... but to me the pronunciation of above names have a short a- el-ee-a-na.
I'm stumped on spelling with the proposed pronunciation. I'm thinking an o
eliona (like eloise)... maybe I'm over analysing this...
I liked the first choice, personally... for simplicity~ Eliya's name's meaning is exactly the same, precisely why we chose it~ :) I love the name Eliana! :D Sorry you're having a sea-sickness issue right now~ Hope it passes quickly~

Ummm ok so apparently I'm phonetically challenged... in which case I vote first spelling.

lol no biggie. do you hear how it's sounds?
That's why I though maybe Ellyana would be easier for people to read correctly. But I don't think it looks as pretty as Ellieana or Eliana....

I vote for number one :)
I have a friend who lost a baby early in the pg, they were 'convinced' it was a girl and named her Eliana. :) I'm pretty sure that's how they spelled it too.

I voted for #1. :-D I do have two friends that had babies last year and get tired of explaining their babies names and wished they had gone with the most phonetically easy spellings. Maybe #2 would be easier. ?
Beautiful name :-D

OT: But I thought the 3rd trimester started at 27wks?? Maybe I got that wrong. Anyone know?

Personally I prefer #1 but I can see where #2 would be easier for others to pronounce and also more similar to your daughter's name.

I really do like the first one the best. Eliana has a European sound and look to it. Eli is a European prefix for names, and the 'ana', pronounced 'onna', is also European.
Now, 'Elly' is American, and we pronounce 'ana', 'anna' (and sometimes with a long a, like in Dana). I think true American phonetic spelling would be Ellyonna. If you do something like Ellieana or Ellyana, your origin is half American and half European, and I find that confusing. I'd be more likely to mispronounce Ellyana, saying Ellyanna, than Eliana. Honestly, I think the ones who'll maybe have trouble with pronunciation will be those who are unfamiliar with the name.
Hope all of that wasn't too confusing. Also, I am aware that Aliana has a Hebrew meaning, but the spelling definitely looks European, like Italian.
Just my two cents.
Gorgeous name, BTW. [lovesmile]
