View Full Version : Dh's results
tripper 07-24-2009, 08:34 PM So we got good news today! It would seem dh's count is fairly normal, but motility and morphology are poor. My thought was, at least he has some!!
Since the appointment, we've pretty much spent the day making jokes between us about 1/3 of his guys wanting to go, and the other 2/3 playing Duck, Duck, Goose with ADHD... [rotfl][rofl]
Any suggestions for increasing the # of good swimmers? ;-)
Well that is some good news! Gives you two more hope, I'm sure! :D Sorry I don't have any knowledge in the "increasing swimmers" dept. lol
4HisGlory 07-25-2009, 01:51 AM sorry the only thing I know is to switch to boxers. I am really happy he has swimmers though!!!!
ChamomileFriend 07-25-2009, 10:06 AM That is great that his numbers are good and 1/3 of his guys are gtg! :)
Any suggestions for increasing the # of good swimmers? ;-)
I googled it and found this:

There were also some couples TTC talking about vitamins that helped their dh's here:

savedbygrace 07-25-2009, 12:23 PM That's awesome that you guys found out! I would do some research to see what to do about increasing it in number and quality!
That *is* good news! :) Nice that you guys can joke about it, KWIM?? ;) I'm watching and praying, Trip!
leona 07-25-2009, 01:25 PM that's fantastic news .zinc is supposed to help my husband took that when we were trying ( his count wasn't very good) general health stuff, try cut out alcohol if you drink and eat plenty veg and fruit and get early night and exercise, just so your body at it's best and i know you prob fed up of hearing this relax , although you can get preg when you stressed , cos i was at my most stressed when i did lol !!
kanaclark 07-25-2009, 04:29 PM no suggestions, but I'm glad you have answers, and it's good that you two can joke with each other. But I gotta say, Duck Duck Goose with ADD, that's too funny!
Israel 07-27-2009, 04:38 PM Adding to the boxers, cut on smoking and/or alcohol consumption...
I thought I also heard that if he drank coffee shortly before bd it may help with motility. Try to google it. Hey, it's great to hear his numbers are normal...that's big! Congrats!
tripper 07-27-2009, 05:37 PM Actually, as far as I'm aware, coffee is horrible for sperm because of the caffeine content. I'm trying to get dh to cut back on his coffee intake (4-5 cups a day!!) or switch to decaf. No luck yet. :P
He's totally open to vitamins and supplements, so I'm going to do some more research. Thanks for all the links and suggestions ladies!
BlessedMommy 07-27-2009, 05:51 PM I'm so glad that you have some answers! I hope that you're able to find more answers as to how to make DH's swimmers cooperate, lol!
Israel 07-28-2009, 01:45 PM I'm trying to get dh to cut back on his coffee intake (4-5 cups a day!!) or switch to decaf.
Yes, you're right...that is a lot of coffee per day. That much every day seems like it would have the opposite effect. My dh was not a big coffee drinker at the time we were trying for our son, so it seemed to help with his...along with quitting smoking (as you know, we had the same issue). But it's good your dh is open to the supplements cause I remember reading something about vitamins and motility/numbers. When you find some info, maybe you can post it here for future reference. Best of luck, Sarah!
I had a friend and her husband kept the "boys" chilled if you know what I mean. :) He literally would sit with an ice pack wrapped in a towel down there while they watched TV and stuff at night. Evidently, his body was running just slightly too hot for the sperm to survive well.
Also, I have heard that if he has a slight fever (and may not know it) that it can cause issues with the survival rate of the sperm.
