Ok I will post this in here as I do not think it belongs in the other thread. I was just looking for advice on wacky periods. My AF seems to take over my life when its due.
I get the cramps a week before some times longer if I am stressed. I also get a lot of discharge around the time its due which seems like a never ending cycle. My period itself is not too bad the first day is super heavey then its very light for 3-8 days again depending on mood.
Is there any thing that I can do to help regulate it. I do not want to go on the Birth Control pill as I dunno I do not like the thought of it. I do not want to be taking protective measures when there is no need to do so.

Zoe, hormones are very hard to regulate because they're in a constant sate of flux by nature. Natural hormones and foods that can change your hormone levels are certainly safer than synthetic hormones, but again, you're causing your hormones to fluctuate further. And, though I don't like synthetic hormones for anything other than as a last resort, they're by far the easiest to regulate. But... the side effects are dangerous.
So, here's the real secret to regulating hormones naturally. Regulate your life. Seriously. Your best chance of regulating hormones at your young age is to manage your life with a commitment to regularity. That means regulate bedtime and wake-up times. Be careful about what goes into your mouth and really try to eat foods your body will use in the way it's intended (avoid processed foods, too many sugars, even natural ones, avoid caffeine, etc....). Establish consistent exercise patterns (no stopping and starting or excessive exercising to make up for the times you didn't). Manage your stress and any other sharp emotional mood swings. And most importantly, make sure you're spiritually healthy, which also takes constant maintenance, upkeep, and growth.
These things are the greatest causes of fluctuating hormones in a young person, other than puberty, pregnancy, or being postnatal (including breast feeding). Of course, this is assuming you are otherwise healthy and don't have an underlying disease or condition that effects hormone production. Though many conditions and diseases are brought on by poor body/life maintenance. Not all, by any means!
That's it, dear girl. Take goooood care of that temple, and give it time to regulate. And if you feel there may be something else requiring medical attention, might want to make an appointment. Otherwise, it really is best to go the 'real' natural route and start with the basics.

I agree with Joy - a regular sleep schedule really helps and so does cutting back on refined sugars. We do still use sugar here, but less and only the "raw" unrefined kind. And the more homemade food the better of course, bec then there is no weird added chemicals to mess with your hormones. I have heard that sleeping in complete darkness also helps, but I don't remember where I read that.

Thanks Joy and Christine (hope I rememberd your name correct)
I will give all of those a try and keep you all informed. Sleep routine I roughly go to bed at the same time everynight. Then I am sleeping for 2-4 hours during the day. My system is so out of sync at the moment so will get things into check and see where I go from there
Love you guys

Yep that is my name! I used to have it in my siggy but it doesn't fit anymore bec of my pregnancy ticker.
If you have moodiness or sluggishness in the mornings, taking a B-50 vitamin before I go to bed at night usually helps me with that. I think there are a bunch of different companies that make a b-50 complex, it is just all the different B-vitamins together. I got mine at one of those warehouse places that sells everything in bulk and it has lasted me and dh forever.
