Eight children were found in the Florida home of their slain parents, who apparently were the victims of a home invasion, police confirmed to CNN today. The couple, Byrd and Melanie Billings, had 12 adopted children, some with special needs, the Pensacola News Journal has reported.

I read about this earlier, as well. How horrible! The children will be in my prayers.

That is so awful. I hope some of the other children (the 8 who were not home at the time) are old enough to care for some of their siblings or that other relatives will step in as well to make sure the little ones all get good homes to heal in. I hope the babies who were home didn't see their parents being shot, will say a prayer for them.

There was like 8 people involved dh was telling me, did they actually know the people?

I think it is possible that some of the day laborers involved had worked on the property before, but not 100% sure. So sad. If the criminals hadn't failed to disarm the security cameras in the house they might never have been caught either. I am so glad they were caught on tape and apprehended quickly. I know people do desperate things when they are facing joblessness and don't have faith, but no one had to die in the robbery, it was so senseless.
