OK so we went to the city today to buy winter tires for the truck, so we can drive it without sliding all around. We were sitting waiting for the tires to be put on....

and the baby puked. Everywhere. I went to the bathroom, I washed her up, changed her clothes... her snowsuit was yucked up, but luckily I had brought an extras! (it was really cold outside). I left her with her warm sleeper and onesie on with her dad. But... then she puked. Again. All over hubby's jacket too. And again. So I washed her up, changed her clothes... and she puked again. and again. She went through ALL her clothes, until eventually we just had her in an extra snowsuit that we stashed in the car, because she had nothing to wear!!! And we were 2 hours from home!! And it's freezing!! But we can't let her sit in clothes soaked with vomit. I had to go to babies r us and buy her another sleeper AND another blanket (so I could cover myself breastfeeding, as she had puked all over all the OTHER blankets that we brought, even though we always bring extras). Thank goodness for those huggies sample disposable washcloths that have soap in them that they keep mailing me, let me tell you! I keep all the free baby samples I get in the diaper bag, and wow did all those free soaps and stuff come in handy today!

The weird thing was, she is not sick, no fever. She was her usual jolly self - except at the tire place. The rubber smell of the tires was VERY STRONG. Could it make her stomach sick? the smell? I know it is not a nice smell but I didn't think it would make her puke 10 times in an hour!! She RARELY spits-up. RARELY. She did spit up quite a bit until she was about 3 months old, but we haven't had any spit-up since then.

She was fine after we left the tire place - back to her regular self, no spit-up or puking at all. Weird eh!! What do you think do you think it was the rubber smell or do you think she could have been sick? She wasn't introduced to any new foods, she only had breastmilk and that never bothers her. I hadn't eaten anything out of the ordinary that would have been in my milk either, no spices or anything weird.

The tire place people were VERY understanding though, even though there was puke all over the floor they said it was no big deal and that they have cleaners that clean up and mop anyhow. :)

Anyway has anyone else had this happen to their baby?

Your story made me think back to when my babies where babies and I promise you my son would puke at the drop of a hat  ! Luckily dd wasn't that way :D . Back to ds puking  , he was sensitive to certain smells and still is. He does have lots of allergies and asthma too so looking back I think some things that triggered his vomiting was probably things or atleast contained things that he is allergic to. Certain smells also make me sick to my stomach and rubber smell can be very strong. If she has no other symptoms and is no longer sick then I bet it had to be the tire smell or could it even have been some motion sickness from traveling into the city? I've gotten motion sick before too.

Hope all is better now!

Stephanie :D

Yeah, it definetly sounds like it had to do with the tire place. Like Stephanie mentioned it could of been the smell or motion sickness. I got a lot of motion sickness when i was a little girl [whatblah] , luckily i grew out of it. [OK]

Hm she has never had a problem before going to the city... she loves riding in the car so I can't imagine it's motion sickness. She does better in the car than she does at home LOL

I will probably just keep her away from tire places/mechanics/places with strong smells from now on, at least until she's older
