What's been your favorite food this pregnancy? or maybe the ONE thing you can stomach in the early days? I'm finding it REALLY hard to eat *anything* still... especially if *I* cook. Ugh. Pringles chips seem to be one of the FEW things that sound "ok" all the time, along with plain ole ice cream. Something about the cold, creaminess... it's just soothing. Other than that... Salad with Balsamic vinegar always sounds good... What about you guys??

And how do you get your water down? I can't drink just plain ole water... I gag... I have to have *something* in it. I do lemon and a bit of sugar or equal just to sweeten it up.

Let's see....
Water, I love it really really really, one more really cold! This also helps you burn calories! But it only makes enough of a difference if you drink enough water throughout the day. Another thing is making decaf Ice Tea. And when I can't drink water I will drink Gatorade2 (G2) it tastes good and has less sugar than regular Gatorade. (less, not fake)

As for foods,
when it's hot I want refreshing foods, lots of toasted subs with greek dressing poured on top. Salads and fruit. I also have been loving Taco Bell!
What about pasta? If you can stand pasta you could make : angel hair pasta, sauteed bell peppers, garlic and either chicken or baby shrimp in Olive oil.
then warm up some light marinara sauce or do straight olive oil with italian seasoning in it and mix it with the pasta, top with peppers, garlic and chicken or shrimp.

If salty is your thing then try some diced red potatoes, seasoned/salted, fry them up and pour shredded cheese on top.
I usually will eat that with steak or chicken breast.

Good foods I've craved - fruit, lots of it, and lettuce. Not so good foods I've craved this pg are lasagna (only had once this pg so far) and strawberry ice cream (I think I've had that 4 times this pg).
I am trying to be careful with what I eat this pg both bec I was sick in the beginning but also bec I have been gaining weight really fast this tri which I don't like bec I don't need it. I weigh now what I did when I delivered S, but I don't even know where I am carrying it bec my clothes are still loose, my belly is smaller this time around and people are saying the baby is taking all my calories bec my face/arms/legs look thinner than in my first tri?! I am so confused.

Lemon water is so good! I used to microwave the lemon slice in the water and drink it like tea (when we had a micro).
Chicken and red potatoes sounds good, too - that is what we are having tonite.

I love just plain ol' water. It's cold enough from the tap here that you don't need ice.

I would say my favorite food so far in this pregnancy is houmous!!! I seriously LOVE the stuff. I cut up some raw carrots and dip them in the houmous (reduced fat houmous, so a bit healthier). I also make houmous sandwiches for lunch. I really could buy every tub of houmous in this town and eat it within a week....lol.

Definitley strawberry milk!! I can't seem to get enough of it! I think I must be craving calcium and since I can't stand the taste of straight milk at the moment I am just drinking cartons of strawberry!! MMMM really starting to want some now talking about it!

I seem to have no other regular cravings except that sometimes when I see something I HAVE to have it! The other night at the 3.30am toilet run I desperately wanted strawberry instant pudding - so was discovered by hubby eating it at 4am!! LOL so funny! Last night's 3.30am toilet run it was grapes....

Mac N Cheese.

So not healthy. But it's been the one food I can always eat.

I also love strawberries, grapes, watermelon. mmmmm. I need to figure out what we're having for dinner! :D

Toast with marmite! Not sure if you will know what marmite is - it is a yeast extract spread with a strong, salty and very distinctive flavor. Apparently the New Zealand version is quite different in flavor to a UK version. It is definately an aquired taste (and people either love it or hate it). I had not eaten it before - but my midwife recommended it because the vitamin B in it would help me deal with the severe morning sickness. As I could barely eat anything I decided to try it. It was such a lifesaver because I found that not only could I eat it - but I actually really enjoyed it as one of the few foods I could keep in my stomach.

When I was expecting my first, I had a box of stovetop stuffing almost EVERY night!! And I also craved fish with all three, but as soon as they were out I wouldn't eat it again! (I dislike seafood!)[whatblah]
