Hi,
has anyone else also experienced breathlessness during pregnancy. i am only 26 weeks. i don't think it is ashma (does not feel the same) i think baby may be putting alot of presure on my lungs. (i have taken my ashma inhalers - does not do that much) only thing that helps is to sit still and after a while i will start breathing normally again. problem is, i get this anytime - i mean, without exercising.
I cannot even ly down - cause the pressure of not breathing is so awekward.
Anyone has ideas, tip advice?
thanks.

Ahhhh...yes, this is familiar...and still happening at week 36 for me! Did with my last too! It started around week 17 for me and went through the duration from then on.....Doesn't matter if I'm walking, climbing stairs, sitting, laying down sometimes...just where junior decides to put pressure at that time. Resting does usually help though or trying to shift the little one around some as best as possible.......
One thing that can make it worse is if you're short wasted/short height...I am at barely 5'3" and there is a major nerve that runs under your breastbone that controls the feeling of anxiety/tingling in arms and chest/breathlessness/hot and cold flashes/etc....if you're short, it's more likely for the baby to put pressure on it and give you some of these symptoms per what my OB told me anyway......you're about at the point I was both times to have that start in.....Good luck!

I had horrible breathlessness with baby number 3! I was told that it had to do with progesterone levels being high. I was plagued with it almost from day one all the way through.
