Aaron (my 4 1/2 yr. old) had stomach bug earlier this week. He started eating around 3 p.m. on Wed. - pretzels, crackers and drinking juice, water, etc. Thursday he had a few bites of toat, couple bites of sandwich, pretzels and crackers, juice, milk, water. Today he ate 1/2 of his french toast sticks, a couple bites of grilled cheese and has had juice and milk. I guess I thought by now he would be back to "normal" eating. I did have someone say that his throat might be sore from being sick. He is acting like himself though - not sleeping the day away and is playing like he usually does. So, should I be concerned about this lack of appetite?

I would give him a little more time. It can take a while to get completely back to normal. If it persists then a call to the doc to be sure all is all right could be warranted. Probiotics really help the gut recover from a stomach bug. :)

I agree with Leslie, and it sound like he's is drinking liquids if he stops drinking also then take him to see dr. Don't ant him to get dehydrated. I know its hard when they stop eating.. my son just got over beeing sick and he's starting to eat a little more now but not as much as I would like him to eat.
I'll say a prayer for him.

Not to worry! Sometimes my little guy doesn't eat nearly as much as "normal" for several weeks...besides taking awhile to build back up or having a scratchy throat from being sick...their little tummies shrink and it takes less to fill them up until stretched back out! As long as he is acting happy and playful and staying well rested and hydrated, I wouldn't worry an ounce! :D

I agree, it sounds pretty normal. My son also takes ages to eat normally again after recovering from sickness. My mother says that I was just the same when I was little - she always had to give me a type of vitamin tonic for a few days to get me back to normal.
