When I was dressing Hannah for bed and getting ready to put a pull up on her (I've been using cloth at night but had a leftover pull up laying around) she said, "I want to wear undies." So I put undies on her and she stayed dry all night. I took her to the toilet as soon as she woke up.

Should I automatically keep putting undies on her at night or was this likely to be a one time thing?

Is her mattress a toddler-y one with the plastic on it? If it is, I would go for the undies and see. Go Hannah! [clapping]

Her mattress is plastic but lately she's been sleeping in a tent in her room.

The Start Healthy, Stay Healthy site has an entire section on potty training (http://www.gerber.com/Articles/Articles_Index.aspx?CategoryId=8b2c4b93-b84f-42fd-b509-8d595f570a96&MilestoneId=25fed781-7e6d-4b69-a9df-ffc841c2e4f4) that's pretty helpful. It has articles that give tips and steps that are great for when you first start the process. Hope this helps!

Everytime we potty train we do underwear the whole time. I think giving them a pull up makes them feel it is ok to just go, KWIM? Also mine would wait til night to poop if I try that so we just go cold turkey. I think out of 4 kids we may have had 1 or 2 night time accidents. Good luck!!!

This is what happened with ds and we just went with it (although I was somewhat skeptical initially). He was fine - and we never looked back. We just made sure that he had a bed protector under him and it was only needed once as far as I can recall. I say that when they are keen it is a good idea to let them give it a try - grasp that window of opportunity because if you don't she may stop being so keen to give it a try.
