View Full Version : Color of poo... sorry TMI 1Cor13 11-27-2006, 01:51 PM I forget what color should a three wk old poo be?? seedy yellow if breastfeeding right?? but what about formula?? McKenna has had runny green the last few days. Is that normal?? Cheeseburger 11-27-2006, 02:01 PM Katherine had runny green poop early on, because I had too much milk and she wasn't getting enough hindmilk (the fatty stuff that comes after the foremilk). It gave her lots of gas and green liquidy poo. After I was making sure she got enough hindmilk and not just foremilk it turned yellow like it's supposed to. I used block feeding (instead of switching breasts at every feeding, use the same breast for multiple feedings in a row so it gets drained well) so she'd get more hindmilk. It worked well, and also helped regulate my supply. I don't have to do blockfeeding anymore - at six months my supply FINALLY regulated to where i'm not engorged and/or leaking ALL THE TIME lol. So now we switch sides at every feeding. She was exclusively breastfed. So I don't know about formula. Hope this helps. It is normally the yellow with seeds, but it has come out greenish on occasion. That always freaks out my poor husband if he changes one that is not yellow. stephwhiz 11-28-2006, 03:50 PM My babies had yellow poo most of the time but would vary depending upon what I ate...did you know that drinking purple drinks (like purple Kool-Aid) will make one have green poo  !
