View Full Version : TMI this makes no sense, well, kinda, but no
kanaclark 05-27-2009, 04:25 PM ok, so blunt, to the point.
Typical cycles 32 days
Last Friday. CD25 BD'ed. I spotted afterward. You know, the "enjoyed the moment" spotting.
Saturday, NOTHING. thought nothing. afterall, was sure it was as previously stated spotting.
Sunday, I had some serious cramping. Rolled over, type. I passed about 3 or 4 clots all about the size of a gum ball, give or take. Okay, quarter :-)
Monday, nothing. Nothing at all. Normal day.
Tuesday, I could have killed everyone in sight, grumpy as all get out.
Bleeding light to medium, and it's RED.
Today. Nothing. A little crampy, and spotty when I pee, but nothing major. Nothing worth thinking over.
Okay, so in your opinons, what gives? I have 'ideas' but then again, i don't.
JoyLynn 05-27-2009, 05:44 PM So, overall, your period was lighter than usual but with some heavy clotting? The duration was still nearly a week start to finish... Ever happen like this before?
You've mentioned ovarian cysts in the past. My guess.. Sounds like your estrogen and progesterone are out of balance. E and P need to be in balance with a gentle rise and decline from ovulation to menses. Menses starts when the two fall beneath a certain point. You could be low in both hormones, or just progesterone. Being higher in E and lower in P will cause thickening of the uterine lining, which could be the cause of your clotting and cramping. This phenomenon can also result in ovarian cysts and endometriosis. I wouldn't want to jump to conclusions, but if you're having cramping, clotting, pain and irregular cycles, you could have stage one endometriosis. On the other hand, if you have an ovarian cyst, that could be messing with your hormones, resulting in weird periods and pain. Of course, that pain would be more localized to one side, as you well know. :???:
That's all I've got, girlfriend. Rogue hormonal fluctuations are so normal during child bearing years. I remember being hit with some super weird cycles out of nowhere after my third baby (around 26 or 27). I had cramping, sore boobs, would be really late sometimes for the first time in my life (I'm prone to early periods do to low hormone levels, not late periods). We get so familiar with our cycles, even with their idiosyncrasies, that we notice when something is even a little off kilter. It seems to happen more and more the older you get, though.
So, what's your theory, dahling? You said you had one. :-D

kanaclark 05-27-2009, 07:29 PM about the same as yours b/c I was a week early and it was a different discharge pattern BUT I'm questioning it b/c I always have severe pain about a day or two after I *should* have ovulated, when the cyst itself ruptured and then I would start.
I guess it's just gonna be wait and see. I wonder, too, if the BD'ing is throwing me off a bit. B speculates that the movement possibly "shook" things up and I didn't feel it rupture. I truly don't think he understands the pain of a cyst popping itself. It's not like a pimple. But, I also know of women who don't feel it. My cousin is one of them. She knew once her u/s revealed that she'd had more cysts than she felt. So maybe I do too. who knows??
~Thanks
HHmmm... I have *no* idea! But I'll be watching ya Kana! ;) ::snort::
