Hi everyone!
My name is Kristy and I live in 'sunny' Queensland, Australia. I am very much looking forward to meeting you all. :-D
A brief 'mummy history' of me:
My hubby Troy and I married in Jan 1999 (I was 21, he was 19) and became pregnant around June. We had our first baby Anastasia 5 weeks early but very healthy. She was out of hospital at day 10 and breastfed for just over 3 years. In 2001 we had our 2nd child Caitlin who was born at 23 weeks gestation. She survived in NICU for 10 wonderful weeks then went to be with our ultimate babysitter - Christ.
I had wanted 6 children ever since I was 2 years old, but after this I cried out to the Lord and said I could not do this again. Then He spoke to me in an audible voice and said, 'You are to have a son and name him Israel'. So I found a preterm research centre and underwent a myriad of tests during my next pregnancy and it was found I had an incompetant cervix. I was given a cervical stitch and put on bed rest for the remainder of the pregnancy. In 2003 I gave birth to an overdue boy and named him - Israel ofcourse! Then 4 months later we had a surprise - I was pregnant again! We had Alisha 5 days overdue (also using a stitch), but had some complications with my cervix not opening so had to have an emergency caeser. I was then told I could never carry a baby again because of the damage to my cervix. So we had my tubes tied.
We then spent the next 3 years going through the adoption process (very difficult and lengthy here in OZ), only to be 'rejected' (yes - that was their wording) due to having three children already and refusing to stop homeschooling:???:.
We spent a while in prayer and then saw another obstetrician who looked at my cervix and said it was a perfect looking cervix. So after many signs and prophesies from God to do so, I had a tubal ligation reversal last October. During the surgery the doctor had a good look at my cervix and believes it is completely healed and we should have no problems going to term WITHOUT a stitch. PRAISE GOD! [claploud]
I am currently 15 weeks pregnant and doing well. I am having ultrasounds every 4 weeks to check on the length of my cervix just in case, but I'm believing for a healthy fullterm baby [praying]- and hopefully more!!!
Sorry, it was longer than I said - I am a lady of many words!
Anyway, looking forward to reading everyone elses stories and chatting with you all.
Love and God bless,
Kristy
