HELP! So, as you gals know, we're not uber TTC this cycle or anything... but I've never had this happen. AF stopped four days ago... I had some mild spotting the last day of it... and now, today... I have a light period. Whaaaa???? I had a bit of spotting this morning and thought that was weird... we went out to the Zoo today and I got home to find myself a mess. Weird, man. This has been a clotty-er cycle than normal, also. I've heard of ovulation spotting, but this is bleeding. And I haven't noticed any ovulation dips in my chart either. The only thing note worthy was that my cervix was starting to rise and get soft/open and then first thing this morning I noticed it was lower, soft and open??? I don't get it. At All.

Jen, was your first period pretty normal, or was it lighter? It could be that you're low in progesterone. That can cause you to bleed more often. If your progesterone and estrogen levels are out of balance because you aren't producing enough progesterone (this makes your estrogen level too high. The two need to be balanced), then the higher levels of estrogen can cause your uterine lining to thicken. When this happens, sometimes you won't fully shed your uterine lining during your period and you'll bleed more often. Sometimes even once a week!

Anyway, sure sounds like your hormones are fluctuating. I'd say that if this happens again next month, or if you bleed again before your next period is due, then make an appointment with your gyn. If you're low in progesterone, you'll have a hard time holding onto a baby if you get pregnant. And, of course, if those hormones aren't balanced, you could have a hard time getting pregnant at all. Normally, I'd say wait it out for a couple or a few months to see if the problem resolves itself, but with you and hubby hoping for a baby, I'd not wait very long. You'll have nothing but questions worry you don't need right now.

Love you, girlfriend! I hope this resolves quickly without needing to see the doc. We're all looking forward to a happy announcement from you before too long and don't want any hormone issues slowing you down.

Joy, I'm already pretty sure my progesterone is low due to my short Luteal Phase... so that makes pretty good sense to me. ::sigh:: i was already thinking about just going in to see the midwife and ask her these questions. I don't mind not conceiving, if that's God's will... but I don't want to be miscarrying over and over either. Been there, done that and it's very stressful and trying. Ugh. Thanks for posting back, Joy~ I'll talk to hub and see if he agrees~ I may be going in this week if he agrees with me. Big hugs~

I don't know why, but I know on occasion it has happened to me as well. I thought af was gone and then came back full force. maybe since it was more "clotty" that it slowed down or backed up the regular flow until it loosened?
I dunno, all I can think now is drano..... you didn't drink any did you? just kidding.*dumb i know*
