View Full Version : weaning
I think I've finally gotten Ian weaned from his bottle. He hasn't had a bottle since Thursday afternoon!! Needless to say we had a fussy weekend, but still the same I'm glad to get him off the bottle. Maybe that will cut down on his ear infections. Any one else going through this??

I'm working on weaning my daughter from breastfeeding. She's a year old tomorrow and although, I'm not in a rush to wean, I do think we need to start working toward it. It's very difficult because I have always nursed her when she takes naps and bedtime. So I think we'll wean one nap at a time. Hopefully she'll handle it okay.

When I weaned my little ones, I took away the nap nursing or bottle first and then slowly took the others away and left the bedtime one for last. To me the bedtime one was the most special and it was the hardest for us both to give up. Stephanie

We are also working on weaning off the bottle. We are trying now to give her a sippy cup more often and she did a good transition from not needing the bottle to go to sleep with either, so that was good. We have tried giving her milk from the sippy but of course she wants her bottle. So we are still working on it!
