Well this is just sad

I was watching some of his videos and the kid seems genuinely honest and nervous. It's awful what people are saying to him. He is 12! I mean come on! Are people so hateful towards anyone that talks about God they would even attack a vulnerable child? I guess so! Just goes to show how wicked this world really is.
I wonder if his parents even know what he is doing online. He is getting *thousands* of comments telling him to go kill himself. That's just dreadful... crazy!

It sure does.. And what a brave lad, I pray his faith is strengthened despite all that.

Well, seeing evil on the surface it tends to look tempting and appealing, but he's getting to see the inside.. full of mockery and hatred. Hopefully that will always be a reminder to seek God and not take spins down the path where these ummm... bullies... are loitering. And hopefully some of the bullies or their friends will see how depraved that is and step back and think about where they are headed for once.

And, hopefully, his folks will be able to help him see these hateful responses from a spiritual perspective. I would question whether a 12 year old child should be involved in an internet battle like this.

Doesn't surprise me at all, unfortunately. About a year ago I made a huge mistake. I happened to be doing some researching/shopping on Amazon for a Christian book, and some of the forums popped up at the bottom. One in particular caught my eye, and I happened to post to it. I made a misjudgment in thinking it was a forum of folks genuinely inquiring about Christianity, or just trying to understand. I was positively blasted for moderate things I said and even things I didn't say, e.g., Their question was about "ask and it shall be given to you", so why did the Mom of the post's author die of cancer. I thought it was a genuine "I don't understand but I want to" question and explained that just because someone is sick and prays for healing doesn't mean they'll get well, if it's not in the will of God, that God may have other reasons for allowing this to happen, etc.. That was just fuel for the fire....this guy was on a mission to discredit the Word of God and was looking for some Christian to do battle with, and I was completely taken off-guard. I posted 3 posts total on this thread before it quickly became clear to me that there are SO many folks out there -- agnostic, athiests, et al who have it in for Christians. Not buddists, not muslims, not each other. Just Christians. They take every opportunity to mock them, their beliefs, the Bible, and their God. As I poked around on this forum, that's all it was: Christian bashing. The pigs and pearls story in the NT was quickly brought to mind and I never went back to those forums after seeing what is out there. It's scary!! Christians are despised every bit now as they were nearly 2,000 years ago. No surprises here....they hated Christ, and so they hate us too for following after him.
