Sooo....I am sick pretty much all day everyday lately. It's been about 2 weeks, and I can't seem to get an appetite for anything. I take a few bites and I feel awful. I know about trying to eat less more frequently, but does anyone have any other ideas? I also have GERD, basically meaning, heartburn that doesn't let up! Also last time I checked my weight gain I have only gained 8lbs to date.....which sound great on one hand but on the other I am a bit worried.

The doctor has told me try preggie pops and all that, and to eat slowly, which I do, so if anyone has any other ideas I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, for those that responded to my thread on dizzy spells, those have been replaced by not being able to eat. Thank God that the dizzy spells are done though....I would rather be sick to my stomach than not be able to see straight...so thanks for the ideas and prayers.

Maybe you're experiencing a growth spurt? I remember that when the fetus would go through a growth spurt it caused me hormonal surges, resulting in first trimester symptoms. It got pretty bad during those periods... carbonated waters helped and so did sour things. I craved Vinegar a lot and it actually helped with the nausea~ Hope you can find some relief!

When I was sick during the first part of my pregnancies, I always needed to start my day with protein. That got me off to a better start and although it didn't make all the yuckies completely go away all the time, it did make for easier days in general. Ditto the sour things...vinegar like Jen said. Sour gummy candies helped me with ds2. Hope you start to feel better soon!

When do you take your prenatals? This time around I am taking them before I go to bed instead of in the morning bec when I used to do that it made me soooooooooooo sick when I woke up.

I also agree about the protein thing and about sour things - I love citrus fruits and actually even non-citrus fruits seem to make me feel better most of the time, too. I also usually have some ginger candy or ginger root (to make tea) on hand.

the only thing that helped my heartburn that started at day one and ended when I pushed each kiddo out...was sipping lightly flavored chocolate milk...it was horrible!
Also, muched on bland things...popcorn, crackers, toast...
Carbonated things also helped me if I sipped those really bubbly! Then follow with a tiny bit of food to curb the heartburn...not that it ever curbed much!
I seriously used those big gulps you buy and filled them with cold milk and stirred in chocolate sypup just dark enough that it was tannish...gave it flavor, but HELPED my heartburn! Each of us diff though! LOL...
Ice cream helped some too, just tiny bites and sucked it until it melted and swallowed...vanilla, strawberry, mild flavors...not bunny tracks or something! LOL
Good luck!

You know, I suddenly remembered that I craved chicken a lot... fried chicken mostly... but it helped to eat it. The breading maybe along with the protein?? Either way... food for thought. ::Snort::
