View Full Version : Sophie - hip and ear

Well Sophie had her 6 week checkup yesterday (which she was overdue for). The doctor is referring her to two specialists.
He told us not to lose sleep over it and that he is only doing it as a precautionary measure but he isn't concerned. Paul tidied up last night and I can't find the notes the doctor gave me but she has an auricular (sp?) pit on her right ear. And he could hear a click when he was checking her left hip but he thinks it was coming from her ankle. He said her ankles are a bit clicky.
So he wants to make sure she does not have anything wrong with her hearing/right ear and that she doesn't have a dislocated hip/hip dysplasia (sp?). My cousin Holly (my mums sisters daughter) had Hip dysplasia. I asked the doctor if that meant that it might be a hereditary thing and he said that they don't think it's a hereditary thing and that since she is my cousin, Sophies genetical makeup is something like 1/16th or 1/28th (can't remember) what Hollys would be... I really can't remember how he explained it but he said the chances are unlikely that it is hereditary.
So yeah. He just told us it's not something to lose sleep over.

Praying for Sophie Renee... May the Lord send angels to encamp around her and protect her, and may He keep her close and heal any ailments or problems she has.

Thanks Cheeseburger :)

I really hope she doesn't have hip dysplasia. I remember when Holly both her legs in cast. She couldn't crawl around or anything. The good thing is she is fine now. She is a ballerina now. She moved to London to go to the Ballet School there. :D Her teacher told her she'd never make it big because of the hip dysplasia and how it made ballet extra difficult for her. But she proved her wrong. :D
