Hello ladies!

I just introduced myself in the members area, but I thought I would wander over here and post more about my pregnancy/life. Hope it doesn't get too long...

A bit on DH and me...
We met in college and were friends for 3 years. I knew the Lord was tugging on me and sending me overseas. So when I was graduating and planning to move to Turkey, he realized I was going to be missing from his life. He wasn't sure how he felt about that, so he fasted and prayed over it for 3 weeks!!! I had known from the Lord since the January before (it was May by then) that Brock was going to figure it out but that we would be together...
So June 3, 2006 came. He poured his heart out to me and told me, "I know I love you. I want to marry you. But I know you are going to Turkey for two years. So I will wait for you. I will be here when you get back."

And he was with me the whole way! Two summers later, we got married here in the States and started our life together! It was the most beautiful day I could have ever imagined!!!

Our baby
Well, we were *planning* to wait a few years before starting our family. But we had the mindset that when God allows it to happen, we will be faithful in following with joy and delight!

So when November came and I started to wonder why I was feeling "different" I had a sneaking suspicion God's plans really were bigger - and SOONER - than our own! And it's been a ROLLER COASTER since then!

Nov. 29: BFP! :-D WHOA!
Dec. 3: My 26th Bday!
Dec. 4: To the ER for cramping, bleeding, and lessening of pg signs.
Told we would miscarry even with a hb (only 74) and that I have a bicornuate uterus (BU) but to follow up with another doc. next week.
Dec. 8: Dr. does blood work again... levels have jumped! We remain hopeful!!
Dec. 11: Another U/S shows HEALTHY hb and HEALTHY baby at 7 weeks!
Referred to high risk OB (perinatologist) and a regular OB from fam doc.
Jan 2: See peri and things are looking good! Will see him every two weeks for incompetent cervix and growth checks!

Fast forward through a lot of doc appt and check ups to now...

We are doing so well!!!! My cervix has stayed strong. Now watching for preterm labor and incompetent cervix until end of March. Then it's just preterm labor watch with regular OB!

There have been so many words of life spoken over and into this little one! I keep praying and holding fast to the joy and love Christ has for us in this little one!

Ok, I am going to end it here. I am just SO happy to be here. I have been wanting a Christian group of women to connect with for so long!

Anyone in Milwaukee by chance?? ;)

Thanks for reading!! Much love to you all!

Thanks for sharing your journey! You will love it here. We have had a lot of moms with high risk pregnancies that ended in beautiful healthy children!

Did you do strictly mission work in Turkey or were you working for a secular company? I have a friend who was born and raised in Turkey and lived here in the states for years before moving back home last year to help care for his dad.

I guess it was little bit of everything...
I am a teacher and I taught at an international school in the capital. The company that supports the school and all the staff are Christian. But the school itself cannot be a Christian school officially. The gov. knows who we are, so there are no secrets. But the students are from all walks of faith and a ton of different countries! It is simply BEAUTIFUL!!! We just had to be careful how and when we shared the Good News.

It was my dream job and I miss it so much (even though I wouldn't go back - long story).

Thanks for asking!

Where does your friend live in Turkey??

Where does your friend live in Turkey??

I honestly have no idea! I wish I still had contact with him, but when he left it was really sudden (mom passed away and had to go - nobody there to care for his dad who has severe dementia.)
