My daughter is having a couple of baby showers and I'd like to find some outstanding gifts more so for her than the one I am already giving her... just to help her feel better about herself. Any ideas?
ANSWER FROM READER:
When I was pregnant around six months ago, I cherished things that people bought just for me. I was already down in the dumps and these really meant a lot. One of my favorites was an open order to receive fresh flowers at least every other week. Every morning when I looked at them, it just brightened my day. However, I think some places offer one plant each month as opposed to flowers. Check online to find a good deal and/or call flower shops in your area. It may be simple, but it was wonderful for me. - Caitlin Briggs in Seattle, WA
I found some great, unusual gift ideas for your daughter. In fact, one of them, the Kevel, not only has devices for moms-to-be but also for anyone needing a little helping hand with a zipper due to gaining a bit of weight around the middle or if the zipper is just broken. Their clever device provides a simple, ingenious way to fix sliding zippers and snug-fitting waistbands, allowing women to wear their favorite pair of jeans, pants, shorts and more. See www. Kevel.com for more details. The Pocket Poppet is an on-the-go cardigan. It actually fits inside a small pouch that slides easily inside a purse, diaper bag or lots of places. It's function is to hold a beautiful cardigan in case she goes somewhere and the air turns a tad nippy and she needs something to put on for additional warmth. It is highly flattering and will be utilized through the pregnancy and beyond. The material is amazing. Check out www.pocketpoppet.com for more info on the colors and styles. And then there's a little bubbly. Sometimes there's disappointment among mommies-to-be not to be able to enjoy their favorite cocktail. However, with 9Months, she can have just as much fun as others with this amazing non-alcoholic drink made from grapes grown in Southern Australia. It's produced in a family-owned winery so the juice is from freshly picked grapes, refrigerated at zero degrees Celsius to prevent fermentation. Then it's filtered and pasteurized within the bottle to ensure the preservation of the juice's fresh natural grape flavor. 9Months "wines" are 100 percent natural with no added sugar, no artificial coloring or flavoring, and are gluten free. It tastes awesome! Read about it on www.9monthslove.com and maybe try a couple of bottles at her party.
PLEASE NOTE: I and/or one of my Family Testers has tried out everything that I recommend in my columns. I receive no monetary compensation for my suggestions. Only through real family testing and reviewing is something deemed suitable for inclusion.
CAN YOU HELP?
We're gearing up for Easter baskets around our house and even a little gathering at school. Instead of buying cheap, disappointing items that usually break, what might be some not too pricy but good ideas for baskets this year?
