Bargain Hunting for Double Babies
September, 2006

QUESTION:
Cheryl,
My name is Lisa, and my husband, Scott, and I are
expecting twins. In my expectant state, I am looking for bargains
galore for twin stuff. We do have a three year old so I do have a few baby items
still around but will need double of a lot of things and need to save
as much as possible. My biggest hurdle right now is car seats and
double stroller. If you know of any twin lists that I can get on for
discounts and coupons I would really appreciate it.
Sincerely,
Lisa
ANSWER:
Hi Lisa-
What fun I had sleuthing out resources for you to explore!
As far as your “biggest hurdle” (e.g. the “high dollar” items), have you sought out the local Moms of Multiples Club in your area? (www.NOMOTC.org …you can plug your zip code and find the closest to you if you haven’t already) Almost every Moms of Mults group has a MAMMOTH yard sale in the spring and in the fall (which could be VERY well-timed for you!) …and double strollers, high chairs, car seats (do use care in confirming the non “recall” status of car seats prior to purchase), breast pumps, exersaucers, etc., are often the bulk of the items for sale….and at a tremendous savings.
As you’ll learn when you peek at the listing of links below, BabiesRUs will offer a twins discount of 10% off when two of a “high dollar” item are purchased simultaneously for multiples on the way.
Enjoy exploring the links below…and please do keep in touch! I’d be honored to help in anyway I can!
Best and blessings, and SOOO many congrats!
Take care and keep lines of communication open-

Companies run by twin families often are sensitive to the need for financial feasibility.
The folks at NossGalenBaby are a great example, and they also have a list of other companies that seek to “help” us out fiscally!
